An official ceremony was held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the General Directorate of the Haitian National Police (PNH), in the presence of the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Patrick Pélissier, the Minister of Defense, Mario Andrésol, the Commander-in-Chief of the PNH, André Jonas Vladimir Paraison, members of the High Command, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd'H), Lieutenant General Derby Guerrier, as well as police officers from various units.
This event aimed to thank the Multinational Security Support Mission (MMSS) in Haiti and its Commander, General Godfrey Otunge, for nearly two years of presence in the country. It also provided an opportunity for Haitian authorities to express their gratitude to the mission for its support of security operations conducted alongside the Haitian National Police (PNH) in the fight against terrorist gangs.
Concurrently, the ceremony marked the operational launch of the Gang Repression Force (FRG), whose mission is to consolidate areas already recaptured by the police, strengthen the presence of law enforcement on the ground, and contribute to the lasting restoration of peace and public security throughout the country.
