As part of preparations for the launch of training for a new class of recruits in the Armed Forces of Haiti, Defense Minister Mario Andresol, accompanied by a delegation of high-ranking military officers and Ministry officials, conducted an evaluation visit on Sunday, April 5, 2026, to the Anacaona military base, located between Gressier and Léogâne.

These series of evaluation missions of training facilities are part of the Prime Minister's commitment to strengthening and decentralizing the infrastructure of military training centers in order to achieve a continuous and rapid increase in military personnel.

Under the guidance of the commander of the Anacaona base, Major Fruitz Charlotin, the Minister of Defense conducted a thorough inspection of the main facilities, including the dormitories, the infirmary, and the training rooms. This allowed him not only to assess the needs for rehabilitation and development of these training facilities, but also to gain an objective understanding of the daily living and working conditions of the base's military personnel.

Following this visit, the Minister of Defense met with the military personnel. After acknowledging their concerns, he reaffirmed the Prime Minister's firm commitment to initiating the base's rehabilitation as soon as possible, with the aim of providing the Armed Forces of Haiti with an environment that meets the standards of training, discipline, and professionalism.
