Farewell Ceremony in Honor of the Special Representative of the Organization of American States in Haiti at the End of His Mission

Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé participated this Tuesday at the Haitian Embassy in Pétion-Ville in a farewell ceremony held in honor of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the Organization of American States in Haiti, H.E. Cristobal Dupouy, who has completed his mission.

This solemn ceremony took place in the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship,  Raina Forbin, members of the government, representatives of the diplomatic and consular corps, as well as the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and Head of the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti, Carlos Ruiz Massieu.

 Through its continued presence in Haiti, the OAS has made a significant contribution to the implementation of initiatives aimed at strengthening democracy, promoting human rights, security, and sustainable development.

In his address, the Prime Minister commended Cristobal Dupouy's unwavering commitment, particularly in supporting capacity building for the Haitian National Police and republican institutions. He also expressed the Haitian people's gratitude for the OAS's sustained support.

The Prime Minister further reaffirmed his government's commitment to working towards establishing a stable security environment, essential for holding democratic, inclusive, and credible elections.
