During a solemn and patriotic ceremony held at the Vertières military base, the FAd’H graduated a new class of soldiers, named the “François Capois” class.

In an emotional atmosphere, the 339 new members of the FAd’H took an oath of allegiance, pledging to respect the Constitution and to “serve and defend” the nation, in accordance with the Constitution and the 2015 Decree governing the organization and operation of the Ministry of Defense. Trained by experienced instructors and trainers, these recruits completed a rigorous basic soldier training program, which also incorporated respect for human rights, gender equality, and civil protection.

Speaking at the event, Colonel Neoxles P. Arné, head of training for the Haitian Armed Forces (FAd’H), welcomed the new recruits and urged them to demonstrate discipline, maturity, and a strong sense of duty in order to fully assume their responsibilities. He also expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed to the training of this graduating class and commended the growing interest among young people in military careers.

In a context marked by a deteriorating security environment, the Ministry of Defense, through its action plan approved by Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, intends to strengthen the operational capabilities of the Haitian Armed Forces by significantly increasing their personnel and level of specialization, with a projected recruitment of 1,200 new soldiers in the coming days.  In this context, three recruitment offices will soon be opened: one at the Anacaona military base, located between Gressier and Léogâne, another in Petit-Goâve, and a third in the Great South of the country, more precisely in Les Cayes.
