Meeting between the Haitian Prime Minister and the Vice Chairman of the U.S. House Appropriations Committee

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Haiti, Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, met with the Honorable Mario Díaz-Balart, Vice Chairman of the U.S. House Appropriations Committee.

Discussions focused on the security situation in Haiti, efforts to restore state authority, and the conditions necessary for holding credible, free, and inclusive elections.

The Prime Minister presented the government's strategy to restore security throughout the country, particularly through strengthening the national security forces and deploying the Anti-Gang Force. He reaffirmed that security remains essential for any democratic transition and the holding of general elections. 

The Honorable Mario Díaz-Balart reaffirmed the U.S. Congress's interest in Haiti's stability and encouraged continued efforts to restore security and strengthen democratic institutions.

The Prime Minister welcomed this exchange and reaffirmed the Government's commitment to strengthening cooperation with U.S. partners to support stability and the return to democratic order in Haiti.
