STRENGTHENING INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIPS TO SUPPORT SECURITY AND ECONOMIC RECOVERY

Upon his return to the country, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé held a press conference this Friday, April 24, 2026, in the Diplomatic Lounge of Toussaint Louverture International Airport, focusing on the positive outcomes of his official trip to the United States.

In the presence of members of his cabinet, directors general, and high-ranking government officials, the Prime Minister highlighted the various bilateral meetings he held with members of the international community, related to national priorities: security, institutional stability, and sustainable economic recovery.

 The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of strategic and constructive dialogue with officials from the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). These discussions focused on programs with a strong immediate impact, centered on investment and job creation. “Every job created is a direct response to insecurity,” he stressed.

On the security and electoral front, the Prime Minister indicated that the Secretary General of the OAS, Albert Ramdin, and the U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, along with other dignitaries, reaffirmed their support for Haiti in its efforts to restore state authority. He also advocated for the full deployment of the Gang Repression Force (FRG) and the strengthening of the Haitian electoral system.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister expressed his sincere gratitude to members of the international community, as well as to U.S. lawmakers, for their commitment to Haiti’s cause and their unwavering dedication.

 At the end of this press conference,  Alix Didier Fils-Aimé reaffirmed his government's commitment to restoring security and organizing credible elections in the country.
